How long has Technically Simple been in business?

Technically Simple was founded in 2003 by Tim Stringer. He previously spent 13 years working in the corporate world as a software engineer, development manager and project manager.

Where is Technically Simple based?

Technically Simple is based in beautiful Vancouver, Canada. All of our sessions are provided remotely using Zoom.

Do you provide services to people and organizations outside of Vancouver, Canada?

Absolutely. We work with people and organizations all over the world. Many of our sessions are conducted using the Zoom online meeting platform. We provide in-house training within organizations.

How large is the Technically Simple team?

Technically Simple Founder, Tim Stringer is the only full-time member of the Technically Simple team. Though, we do frequently work with contractors and invite productivity and technology experts to share their expertise with our community.

I'm interested in joining the Technically Simple team. How do I apply?

We're always on the lookout for people who have a passion for technology and productivity. We don't currently have a formal application process, but you're welcome to contact us to express your interest. Please provide more information on your skills and experience and let us know why you're motivated to contribute to Technically Simple.

What platforms do you support?

For personal productivity, we specialize in the OmniFocus personal tasks manager for Mac, iPhone, and iPad. In addition to providing one-on-one OmniFocus consulting, we offer a membership-based site, Learn OmniFocus that includes an extensive content library and LIVE, interactive sessions.

Our Asana and Zoom services are provided to people and organizations on alls platforms.

How much do your charge for your services?

We provide our services either on an hourly or contract basis. See the Platform & Rates page for more information. You’re welcome to contact us if you have questions.

Do I need I need a Zoom account to join online sessions?

No. When you join the session you'll be prompted to download the free Zoom app. 

On a side note, if you want to use Zoom for your own meetings, you can create a free Zoom account. With a free Zoom account you can have unlimited one-on-one meetings. Group meetings are limited to 40 minutes. To remove this restriction and to gain access to more features, upgrade to one of their paid plans.

Can sessions be recorded?

Some online sessions can be recorded and shared with you and your team. Additional costs may apply and recordings are for internal use only.

Please let us know in advance if you'd like a recording of your session.

Product Recommendations

Will you evaluate and promote my product?

We're always on the lookout for new apps and hardware to recommend to our clients and colleagues. If you have a product that you'd like us to evaluate, feel free to drop us a line. Please share a summary of your product and why you think it would be a good addition to Technically Simple's approved product list.

Please note that we get a significant number of requests and are very selective about what products we evaluate and approve.

Does Technically Simple earn an affiliate commission?

In some cases, if you click on a product or service that we reference, Technically Simple will receive a commission if you end up purchasing the product or service. This income is used to help fund further research.

We're very selective about products and services that we endorse and many are ones we use in house.

While we do our best to vet each of the products we recommend, we can't guarantee that they'll work flawlessly. If you have issues with an app, hardware product or service that we recommended, please contact the supplier or manufacturer directly.
